I continue to have problems reaching this blog (which means I have a hard time updating it). Others are also reporting problems.
The best advice I have gotten has been to re-start my router. This has worked a couple of times, including just now. I have no idea why the router wants to stop talking to the site. It is fine with arnoldkling.com in general, but getting to arnoldkling.com/blog often fails, and logging into wordpress often fails.
You should just wait and let the free market solve your problem.
No, I’m sure the government will get around to it soon.
Maybe try switching to Google or Open DNS?

You can configure on your router, or on just your computer’s network settings. If that clears things up, it’s likely your ISP
You could also try a tool like Pingdom to see if its a large external problem too (thus likely your web host itself) https://www.pingdom.com
Is your router also your cable modem? That matters a bit in the diagnosis
We don’t use cable. Our provider is Verizon, and it uses FIOS. The router is a different piece of equipment from the box that connects to the fiber.
Of course, the web site is hosted somewhere else, by a hosting service.
No problems reaching this blog over the last several days.
If in Windows land, running
tracert.exe
from the command shell can sometimes help find breaks. There are probably more sophisticated ways of doing something similar that I am unaware of.
For what it’s worth, I have not had any trouble with your RSS feed (which I read through Newsblur), and I didn’t have any trouble accessing your site just now. It’s possible that your ISP or router is having issues with DNS. You could switch your PC so it uses Google or OpenDNS instead of what’s provided by your ISP/router. If you are only having trouble at home but not at other locations, that could be the issue. You can potentially get around that by using a VPN. However, you shouldn’t have to go that far.
You might check if your router has a firmware update.
Had not had any problem… until this morning. Got a “couldn’t find…[a what? DNS server? …some mumbo-jumbo, anyway]. Went away. Came back just now & all is ok.
I would recommend contacting your ISP.
